Semester Four Project Reflection

1. Project 1: Research Findings: Curative Service

Through this project, I have gained a lot of teamwork spirit and communication as it involves a team of me, Niew Seen Ying, Lim Shiang Qian and Yee Zhe. As we were randomly chosen to explore the topic of dietary, we made a video about it with the necessary precedent studies. All the precedent studies were curated and we finally made a short video. My task was studying the other dietary brands like Amway and also I made the video with iMovie with the help of my other teammates. All in all, the video was a success and interesting to watch.

2. Project 2a: Promotional Kiosk

This project was highly related to our previous task where we were still focusing on the topic of dietary. With the same teammates, we had to build a kiosk targeted on kids. With the ample precedent studies of kiosks, we had to create a multi-purpose collapsible promotional kiosk to promote our centre as well as product and brand design. All the precedent studies were posted on a padlet for convenience and tutorials. My part was designing the whole slides presentation with the correct flow. Colour palette and styles were chosen by me to create an interesting slides presentation that at the same time, symbolizes kids.

3. Project 2b: Site Analysis

For this particular assignment, I was grouped under SWOT to make necessary analysis for the site. As I was grouped under SWOT, I had to walk around Bangsar surrounding GreyHouse to understand the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat of the site around it. For my task, I contributed to the location and facilities available in Bangsar as well as translating the information obtained to interesting infographics on Photoshop.

4. Final Project : Curative Retreat

The Final Project marked the final part of Semester 4. As Semester 4 brought about a lot of new challenges, we were faced with a lot unforeseen hardships and stressful months. Though with a lot of studies done from all the previous projects, we were still struggling through to meet the deadline of this final project. Focusing on the same topic as before, I directed my project towards kids with epilepsy and dietary needs. Though with tutorials and hardwork, the first pin up was considered as a failure and we had to reorganize the whole board with the correct adjustments. I would not think that this whole project was a failure though but instead it taught me that consistency and progressive work is the key to everything. To produce something good, it involves great sacrifice, efficiency, ample precedent studies, time management and of course, design knowledges.
